The little boy has a beautiful decorated balloon. He is so excited as he waives it around, pointing it at the sky and shows it to everyone with pride and excitement. His joy is so infectious as he runs around with the biggest smile playing in his beautiful imagination and magical world, just him and his balloon!
If I was to give you a balloon on a stick to play with, how excited would you get and what playful experience would you create?
I would suggest you may politely smile, wave it around a few times then find a place to discretely hide the balloon, then carry on with an activity that keeps you busy. You busy yourself by checking your phone, look at your computer, find someone to chat with, do something or engage in some other activity. Activity that is really a distraction from the chatter in the head which may be saying, “I don’t have time to play with a balloon, I’m embarrassed, I don’t know what to do with it or how boring!
As adults, we have forgotten how to play, we have spent years getting programmed out of our childlike minds and playfulness that it seems alien and uncomfortable to engage in such activity. We have become infected by one of the most infectious diseases known to man ‘Seriousitus’!
The energy of playfulness has become hidden deep inside, yet the heart yearns for you to come out and play, to be yourself, to enjoy the energy of fun and creativity you had as a child and importantly, play that had no judgement and imagination that moved worlds.
We have learnt through our programming to live in a way that conforms, pleases and is acceptable. How else will we get and keep that job, have friends, socialise, get educated, earn money and be accepted into society!
Playing with the balloon is not good enough for us now because we don’t know what to do with it, it holds little purpose for us, we need other things to stimulate us and which, by their nature, distract and if we engage in them long enough, are just anesthetising us from the multitude of suppressed emotions. Emotions screaming to be heard, to be let out and to be released. But they get ignored because humanity is scared to let them, scared they will lose control, be judged and lose everything.
It is only a matter of time before these ‘de-pressed’ and ‘re-pressed’ psychological emotional energies begin to affect the biology, triggering aliments and disease. We have come so far away from living who we are and our playfulness, that it affects our life.
So, can you be willing to become playful with the balloon again, create the imaginative stories, play and feel the energy of playfulne with all its magic?
If you can make the balloon ‘enough’, if you can, life will never be the same again and another person will get healed from the deadly disease ‘Seriousitus!
